No sound on laptop with Intel ICH8 (PCIID: 8086:284b Subsystem: 161f:2073) in Intrepid

On a laptop with the following sound card:

Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller [8086:284b] (rev 03)

we couldn't get any sound with Hardy 8.04.1. After a fresh reeinstallation of Hardy to regain the initial - non messed up configuration we upgraded to Intrepid Alpha5, unfortunately with no luck. Couldn't get sound work with the Kernel 2.6.27-2 and alsa 1.0.7 neither.

I attach the result of the alsa-info.sh script.

I' ve realized there is also an other report of these bug:

so I've marked this one as duplicate.

In #207068 there is also the following link

which suggests to set:

model=dell-d21

I suppose in "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base"

It would be interesting to try this quirk with the Intrepid kernel.
