Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

A crash report should be connected to this report.

The crash happens every time since the second time I logged in to KDE 4.
During the first login, I've changed a number of desktop settings, added plasmoids, activated some window manager effects, etc.

When I moved the home directory and created a new, empty one, login is fine again, but as soon as I copy the old one back into place, the crash reoccurs.
I didn't have time so far to try to deduce the specific setting/plasmoid/whatever that caused the crash, but upon request I can try some.

Could we get a copy of your ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-appletsrc?
I think we can forward this report on to KDE once we have that.
From the backtrace it looks like the Lock/Logout plasmoid is causing the crash..

After enabling desktop effects plasma (probably) crashes. Everything is white or grey, but desktop is working (I can point to K menu and after click it shows up, but it's white on grey background) cursor remains normal. Ubuntu bug report utility mentioned something about randr crash and I sent bug-report. It's probably bug in the newest nvidia binary blob, because with beta one desktop effects worked well (but performance was horrible...), but I'll try with beta second time, because I upgraded my system so it's possible that problem lays somewhere else.

It's definitely nvidia fault. With beta 177.78 compositing works well.
