totem plays on two accounts simultaneously

If I have two users logged in on my computer, and I insert a DVD, Totem launches and attempts to play the DVD on both accounts at once. The result is the movie will not play on either account. In order to play the movie, I must eject the DVD, then kill all totem processes, then reinsert the DVD, kill all totems again, then manually launch totem and play the movie.

ubuntu 8.04.01
totem-xine version: 2.22.1-0ubuntu2

Expected behavior when inserting DVD is: Totem launches and plays DVD on currently active account

Could you try this on 8.10 and see if the issue is there as well? Also, could you try with the gstreamer backend as well?
This should help us narrow down where the bug is from.
