Bug Description

I have a FTP bookmark which usually works fine, but the other day the server was offline and when I click the bookmark through the gnome panels (Places -> Bookmarks -> my ftp) then all of the gnome panels freeze for a couple of minutes, untill an error message is displayed stating that the FTP is unavailable. In this time I'm unable to open the Applications menu or any other menu's for that matter.
