Bug Description

Binary package hint: w3-dtd-mathml

Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04

w3-dtd-mathml:
  Installed: 2.0.0.0-1
  Candidate: 2.0.0.0-1
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.0.0-1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

This package should both include and install XML catalog entries for the DTDs it
provides. It does neither.

This is puzzling because the base Debian w3-dtd-mathml_2.0.0.0-1_all.deb
package, downloaded from a Debian mirror, *does* include catalog.xml, and by all
appearances, does install it when the package is installed. Further, the change log
on the Ubuntu package notes that XML catalog support was added - on 28 Jan 2004!

Apparently the XML catalog was dropped from the Ubuntu version of the package; the
missing catalog.xml appears to be the *only* difference in files contained in the two
packages. Without the catalog this package is useless, since references to the DTDs
installed by the package just go out on the net and fetch them instead (excrutiatingly
slowly). Please update to match the Debian maintainer's version and install the
XML catalog.

Adding dh_installxmlcatalogs to debian/rules solves this for me.
