Bug Description

I am trying to run the Ubuntu LiveCd on a 1.25 Ghz eMac with 786mB RAM, but not
connected to the internet and the CD is burned with Roxio Classic Creator 6. It boots
into the CD fine, but after all of the blue setup screens and the black loading
screen with the Ubuntu sign the screen just goes black with no sound; I have tried
booting more than once and the problem keeps occuring, once I left the machine
sitting on for 30 minutes and the screen was still black.

Try plugging in an external monitor. If the external monitor works fine, then the problem is that Ubuntu has accidentally defaulted to the wrong monitor.
