Bug Description

Binary package hint: enigmail

After upgrading to Intrepid via update-manager -d I have found that I am unable to sign or encrypt mails. I get an error about wrong passphrase, but I am not prompted for one!

recently an update allowed me to type in my pass-phrase once more and it worked for a day or two, but after another batch of updates, I can see the input box for the passphrase, but it will not allow me to enter any text into the box.

I had a working enigmail installation (with Thunderbird) but after installing Dutch language packs i got the same problem as described above. I can see the input box, but i cannot enter my pass-phrase in it!

This seems to have to do with SCIM. I used im-switch to set my input method to "none," then logged out and in again, and suddenly I was once again able to enter my passphrase.

Ahaha! I have scim set up so I can type in Japanese. Link found :)

Now I've re-enabled scim, through a different interface, by entering the command
im-switch -z all_ALL -s scim-immodule
. I can type in Japanese again, and I can also enter my password in Enigmail.

i assume that this starts working if you start thunderbird from terminal and do a
unset GPG_AGENT_INFO

before starting thunderbird?
