openpgp asks each time for pin/passphrase to the key instead caching it (kgpg? gpg agent is not helping)

Bug Description

Last time I was using kmail, it asked for passphrase and then stored it for some time.

Now this is not the case (I set it all up again on new os).

I use kgpg (to create keys etc), and kmail;
I have to enter passphrase each time even if I view message 3 seconds later again.
This is really bad.

I tried following http://kontact.kde.org/kmail/kmail-pgpmime-howto.php a bit
but with no help.

-----------------------
ADDED:

using ubunu 8.04 (amd64) up to date
kmail 1.9.9 (kde 3.5.9)
kgpg 1.2.2

You shouldn't have had to actually configure anything. Please check your configs against https://help.ubuntu.com/community/KMailGPGAgent,

After following (yet again) the instructions from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/KMailGPGAgent page that you sugested,
on the test I get:

gpg: problem with the agent - disabling agent use

I also get similar note on some other uses of gpg.

Do you have use-agent set in your gpg.conf?

Since there was no activity for over 2 years I’m closing this as invalid, since it works for me
