Bug Description

When I try to connect to a lan netshare from my other computers which both using Windows XP home/pro. I try brows the lan trough nautilus and the icon "network" then I get my computers in the list and dubbelclick one of them and try to access my shares. But then I get the error like above ( DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Mountpoint Already registered )

I'm using ubuntu 64bits 8.10 I didn't had this problem with 8.04. Though I couldn't get the network list trough nautilus->network. I had to manually type in the smb://search

I've tried run: /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r but it didn't return anything...
I'm not sure if I had this problem from the start but I think so. I can't recall the opposite.

Confirmed on Intrepid with nautilus 1:2.23.92-0ubuntu1 and gvfs 0.99.8-0ubuntu1. To reproduce, mount any network file system (ssh for instance) then drag a folder from that filesystem into nautilus' sidebar. Eject the network filesystem, then double click on your bookmark in the sidebar. You will see the following error message:

Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Mountpoint Already registered
Please select another viewer and try again.

Which is, in the usual GNOME style, pure gibberish.

Yes, and the reason I posted specific instructions to reproduce the bug is so you don't have to ask me.

using the steps you describe on a current intrepid installation lead to nautilus asking the required password and opening the bookmark correctly, not confirming

You're right, this can only be reproduced if the password is stored in your keychain. And, upon further investigation, this bug is in nautilus, not gvfs. Nautilus should be disabling the pointer on the first click, but it stays active and therefore Nautilus asks gvfs to mount the volume twice. That's what produces the error message.

right the sidebar doesn't require a double click to select something an gets confused, that's an upstream bug and should be sent on bugzilla.gnome.org too

Old bug, I know, but... Just tried to reproduce it on 10.04.4 LTS x64.
I didn't manage to reproduce it.
IME this bug should be closed and marked fixed.

"Nautilus no longer implements the sidebar itself, but uses the GtkPlacesSidebar widget, which doesn't seem to have this bug, or at least I can't reproduce it.

Please reopen or report a new bug if this bug affects a recent version."

doing the same here
