AVR mkii not recognized on 8.04

Bug Description

Hi im using AVR mkii ISP with avrdude on Ubuntu 8.04
the ISP used to work well before on 7.10
But after update it doesn't seem to be working.

dmesg | tail | grep "FTDI USB Serial" | grep -c "now attached"
[/code]

this returned '0'

I did check 40.udev rules.permissions its same as the earlier one.

Could you test avrdude 5.8-2 available on Lucid Lynx?
