Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez-input

Currently bluez-utils source creates various binary package. Out of these, 3 are introduced in intrepid - bluez-network, bluez-serial, bluez-input.

These binary packages are currently in universe and hence not on CD or installed by default. This is a regression from Hardy as the functionality provided by these packages was part of bluez-utils previously.

There is at lease one bug which might be related to absence of these plugins on default intrepid install - bug #254123.

I think this is a ubuntu-mir issue moreso than a ubuntu-main-sponsors one; subscribing ubuntu-mir.

But it does appear that these plugins are in universe while the source package is in main:

@Bryce,

Right, because these are new package created from same source. It is just that each plugin was added into a separate package. In hardy there was no concept of plugins in bluez stack. There were only services and out of all the services only audio service had a separate binary package created form same source.

I promoted those three to main. However, in order to get onto CDs, they should become a dependency of something appropriate. If they were split out of bluez-utils, how about making them Recommends: of that package?

@Martin,

Right. Currently bluez-utils recommends bluez-audio. Same way it can also recommend bluez-input, bluez-network and bluez-serial. I will log a separate bug for that.
