Bug Description

Release: Intrepid Ibex

On the Gnome desktop, when trying to adjust the date and time, it's not possible to roll forward past 11:29:29. Rolling backwards through midnight goes from 0:0:0 straight to 11:29:29.

Going through System, Administration, Time and Date, exactly the same issue only the time is 13:49:49. Again rolling back through midnight jumps from 0:0:0 straight to 13:49:49

Changing between 12 and 24hr clock makes no difference.

how do you apply a .diff file?

oh forgot, does this bug have an effect on syncing hardware and system time. my bios would be reading 22:10 and the desktop would be reading 2:10. 4 hours off, if not must be another bug somewhere else.

matrex, you can find informations about how to build a package from debdiff at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuPackagingGuide/BuildFromDebdiff

This bug is only an UI issue, so your time syncing problem is another bug. Start by checking your timezone, similar bug in launchpad or question in the answer tracker. If there's nothing relevant then fill a new report.

Thanks.

Ciemon reported two problems, only one of which was in gnome-system-tools; the other is in gnome-panel's clock applet. I'm attaching a patch which fixes its use of page_size in GtkAdjustments, and also fixes similar obvious problems in the workspace-switcher applet and a similar but rather more subtle problem in the panel properties dialog for good measure. Sebastien, does this make sense to you?

thank you for the patch colin but the gnome-panel bug is already fixed, see bug #269312, I'll point the other adjustement changes to vuntz, closing the task since there is already a bug about that and unassigning it too because otherwise the people subscribed to gnome-panel will get gnome-system-tools bug comments

Hi,

The "Fix Released" in "gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu)" shows that this is fixed,
the "Ubuntu" task is Invalid, as it affects a particular package in the distribution.

Thanks,

James
