RealPlayer plugin won't work in Linux

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I installed RealPlayer Gold 11 in Ubuntu Linux. I cannot get Firefox to use it instead of Totem after selecting RealPlayer as the preffered default for RealPlayer files.
