Ubuntu Intrepid (development branch) 8.10
Nautilus 1:2.23.91-0ubuntu1 0
I cannot browse the shared folders of the computers in my home network with Nautilus (but I could with Hardy 8.04, and I can with smbclient).
Detailed description:
I open Places/Network. I double click a PC called 'Morgen', which runs under Windows XP in my home network. The window 'Windows shares on Morgen' opens up. I double click on a folder ('E') within this window, and an 'Enter Password' window pops up. Since there is no password, I leave the password field blank (the Domain 'WORKGROUP' is correct) and I press <connect>. An icon 'e on morgen' appears on the Desktop, but it does not open: instead, another 'Enter Password' window pops up. I press <connect> and the following error comes up:
'Unable to Mount Location - DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Mountpoint Already registered'.
I get the same error if I try to open the icon on the Desktop.
Exactly the same steps gave me access to the shared folders in the local network host, with Hardy 8.04.
Further info: the computers in the local network are connected via a Linksys router. The Internet connection is okay: no problems with Firefox. I can also browse the other PCs in the network via Terminal, using smbclient:
smbclient //Morgen/E
gives me the smb> prompt and allows me to list the files, copy them, etc.
