Thinkpad X200 can't start GUI

Bug Description
I downloaded Ubuntu Intrepid Alpha5 and used unetbootin to put it on a USB stick. It boots fine, but I get a black screen when the splash bar completes (loading gdm/gui I think). It flickeres a bit, then is still and later reboots. This is a very new laptop with Centrino 2 and integrated intel X4500. It's supposed to be support by kernel .27 though..
I don't have a cd reader right now (it's a small 12" laptop), but I don't think that's the problem..
Hope we get this fixed :)
