Bug Description

Hi
I have installed crossover, and photoshop using it actually which works fine and shows up correctly in the start menu using kde3. when using kde4 however in a hardy install (kde 4.1.1 to be precise), there is no option to start photoshop anymore nor is the crossover category displayed, which is unfortunate if not annoying.
Help appreciated, if you need further info let me know!

ANDREA

ps: i've read somewhere that this has to do with kde4's menu not being ... xdg-compatible or something like that if that has ANYTHING to do with it (don't quote me on this as i don't really know what it means)

If this were in fact a duplicate of 263041, photoshop would need to show up in lost&found as described in that bug status. however, it doesn't. It shows up nowhere. Neither does crossover ... maybe the cause is the same, but the symptoms are not - that would mean that these two are linked, but clearly this is not a duplicate.

I agree that the duplicate status would be wrong (as you stated that it does not show up in Lost & Found), but I recently tried installing crossover professional 7.0.2 on Kubuntu Intrepid (KDE 4.1.2) and the Crossover menu entry does get built correctly.

I am having the same problem as the OP. Matt, when you install it do you get the Crossover menu for the installed Windows programs? When I installed Crossover Pro on my 8.04/KDE3 desktop it created a Crossover menu for general stuff like installing apps and running Windows commands. It also made an additional menu item which basically duplicates the Start Menu for any Windows apps you happened to install. It is this SECOND menu that does not show up in KDE4, the first one shows up fine. I, too, installed Crossover 7.0.2 on Intrepid and did not get both menus.

The only way I can launch a Windows up is to go to the main Crossover menu, select "Run Windows Command" and browse to the .exe I want. It works, but is a bit of a hassle.
