Hi m-fox2k,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.

HI

thank you for reply.
actually i found workaround for this problem.
i have used "nvidia x server settings" utility and had replaced /etc/X11/xorg.conf with generated settings and now ubuntu always starts with my preferred setting instead default.

I have same issue with Kubuntu 8.04
Many times it starts with low resolution 800 * 600 and I think this problem started after I changed my resolution settings to 800 * 600 from
System Setting >Monitor and Display.........
and then Back to normal.........

@ranjan, you're using a completely different video card so must be seeing some unrelated problem, and should file a new bug if it still occurs on Jaunty.
