kmix switches channel on unmute

Binary package hint: kmix

In Intrepid Alpha 5, KDE 4.1 unmuting headphone channel switches sound to front/master.

steps to reproduce :
1. connect headphones (sound switches to headphones just fine)
2. mute the channel ( channel gets muted properly)
3. unmute channel (sound switches to front/master channel even though headphones are still connected)

all done using laptop hotkeys.

In Intrepid beta,
"Decrease Volume" and "Increase volume" shortcuts change the PCM volume, and the "Mute" shortcut changes the front volume, whatever the master channel is.

Is this still a problem on Kubuntu 9.10?
