stops delivering messages

Every once in a while, at random intervals (like after
running fine for a few weeks or more), suddenly
messages stop getting sent out to all mailing lists.
They still go to the archives, they just don't get
sent. can't find any clues in the logs. Is this a
known bug? couldn't find one in tracker.

Too few information to answer.
Have you checked both Mailman and MTA logs?
Are you sure all the qrunnders are running (paticularly
OutgoingRunner)?
