cannot ./configure with python 1.6 on openbsd, used 1.52

was using the ports package on openbsd for python 1.6
and got

HAD to downgrade package for python to
python-
language
to continue, got things to work for a day then something else broke,
looking at that now.

Works for me on both Linux (RH 6.1) and FreeBSD 4.1. I don't have access
to an OpenBSD system.
Sounds like a problem with your Python 1.6 installation. You might try
either rebuilding Python 1.6 from source or giving Python 2.0beta1 a try.
