Bug Description

Jitterbug-Id: 171
Submitted-By: <email address hidden>
Date: Tue, 7 Dec 1999 10:18:28 -0500 (EST)
Version: 1.1
OS: FreeBSD 3.3 STABLE

Using qmail-1.03, the mailowner process hangs (stops doing anything) when
trying
to send mail to the list owner.

I had to replace the wrapper call with a straight forward to the admin
adress in
the .qmail file -- will this have other adverse effects?

Please mail me if you need more info.

There could be a number of things causing this. There is a known bug in
smtplib.py before Python 2.0b1 for large file sends on FreeBSD (but not
NetBSD, Solaris, or Linux). Or this could have been a locking bug.

In any event, Mailman 2.0b5 has a revamped mailowner script, and the fixed
smtplib.py from Python 2.0b1, so I suspect this bug is no longer valid.
