MailingListAPIView still oopsing

Even after cherrypicked, still a lot of hard timeouts are happening regarding MailingListAPIView, as seen in OOPS-979XMLP1, OOPS-979XMLP10, OOPS-979XMLP100, OOPS-979XMLP1000, OOPS-979XMLP1001, OOPS-979XMLP1002, OOPS-979XMLP1003, OOPS-979XMLP1004, OOPS-979XMLP1005, OOPS-979XMLP1006, for instance.

This has been a critical issue for several days now. It's affecting my team's ability to work together.

I haven't seen any update to this bug for five days. Any idea when this will be fixed? Is there a workaround so that vds can receive mailing list messages on the list he's subscribed to?

We've tried a number of query patches on staging but haven't found any magic bullet yet. We're trying a new patch on staging as I type this. If this doesn't work (or maybe even if it does) I'll be implementing a round-robin batching request for subscription info. This is my top priority right now.

I can't think of any good workaround at the moment that isn't at least as much work as actually fixing the problem.

We talked on irc about temporarily increasing the hard timeout limit for this, to allow the data transfer to complete. Did you try this? What was the result?

What's the progress on this bug over the last day?

This has been cowboyed into production, and with Herb's help, we've verified that vds is now a member of the team mailing list in question. The branch is still working through PQM and we're still getting timeouts, just many fewer of them.
