Bug Description
I am trying to use text2speech under Ubuntu. However, none of the
utilities seem to offer an option to specify the correct
soundcard. For this reason I put
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 1
}
in ~/.asoundrc. "aplay test.wav" correctly plays to my headset, but e.g. kttsmgr
from package kttsd still plays to my hifi system despite me having selected gstreamer
alsa-sink as the audio output device.

To me this sounds more like a kttsd problem, not respecting your .asoundrc /launchpad. ubuntu. com/malone/ distros/ ubuntu
settings. I close this bug as UNIVERSE, because that's where kttsd is to be
found, so its bugs are not currently tracked in this system. Bugs for these
packages should be reported to Malone:
