The mail merge wizard does not work.
It will not import any address book in the second step of the wizard

thanks for posting a bug report, I cannot duplicate your bug here on my system.

can you tell us what version of Ubuntu you are using, what version of OO you are using, and, if you are prepared to do so, could you attach the address book file you think should be imported?

further to that, I think what I meant was, could you attach a randomised, invalid address book file of the type you are trying to import... I am not trying to steal your data.

Hallo Neil,

I was using KDE 4.1.1 alpha 5 which has OO 2.4.1. My address book has over 3000 contacts.
I wanted to send a word processor file to several contacts and tried to use the import wizard. (Mail Merge). When I tried to use the address book or add my KABC address folder or std,vcf file it stops there and I cannot pick individual contacts.

Is this what you want?

Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ? Make sure to also install openoffice.org-kab.

Yes Chris, tested today with Ubuntu 8.10 and OOO 3.0 and mail merge
wizard still freezes after second step.

Did you set the address book up first via File->Templates->Address Book Source?
