Bug Description

After configuring KMail, if we select send file by email using context-menu, it gives error about a default sender email address not configured for identity. This is fine, but the problem arises when the window just closes and we lose all our data. Behaviour should be such that, the window should stay open and allow to send a mail once the required changes are done.
An option to open Configurations windows in the warning dialog would be a nice touch.

Thanks for reporting this bug. In order to find the source of the problem could you give us a bit more information.
What version of Kubuntu are you running?
What version of Kmail?
Which context menu are you referring to? I'm guessing that you mean in some application you right click on a file and choose 'send by email' or similar but this isn't clear. Could you clarify which application and which context menu you mean.

thanks,
Rich

Test Bed --
Kubuntu 8.04.1
Kmail 1.9.9
Dolphin 0.9.2

Steps to reproduce --
1. Start Kontact and configure Imap/Pop3-SMTP email.
2. Close Kontact and start Dolphin
3. Right click any image/text file etc and select option "Actions" --> "Mail as Attachment.."
4. Put sender email address, subject, body etc and click send.
5. The error message about default sender not configured in identity is displayed and the Kmail application closes.

Comment --
We should ask user to configure the default identity as well when the email accounts are set.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
