Automatic login disables Keyboard layout switching

when i check Automatic login the Keyboard layout switching doesn't work untill i recheck it
and when i disable automatic login , it backs to normal and works fine

I have the same issue.

I usually have the "Switzerland German, eliminate dead keys"-Layout but ever since I have enabled automatic logon the Layout seems to revert to "German" although no change is visible in the keyboard settings dialogue.

This is under Hardy, my system is up to date. Furthermore the keyboard-layout is the same as the one I had chosen when installing the OS, I have never fiddled around with languages, layouts or any of those.
