Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

VLC has been updated to 0.9.x branch. The 0.8.6 version is reported to have "widely published security issues" according to one VLC dev and it is critical to update:

I am not marking this bug as a security vulnerability as I do not have specifics about those issues. A more knowledgeable dev can escalate this if need be. Thanks.
