Bug Description

When you do a channel scan you can see information about whether a channel is scrambled (encrypted) or not.

The scrambled channels aren't possible to watch so they should be excluded from the channels.conf (or if anyone ever would have a reason to still have them there, mark them red and place all of them in the bottom of the channel list perhaps).

Example for encrypted channel:

0x0000 0x03c0: pmt_pid 0x03c0 Nonstop Television -- Star! (running, scrambled)
0x0000 0x0348: pmt_pid 0x0348 Kanal 5 Ltd -- Kanal 9 (running, scrambled)

Example for non-encrypted channel:

0x0000 0x033e: pmt_pid 0x033e V -- The Voice (running)
0x0000 0x16f8: pmt_pid 0x16f8 Sveriges Television -- SVT1 Sydnytt (running)
0x0000 0x16bc: pmt_pid 0x16bc Sveriges Television -- SVT1 Västnytt (running)

Ok but not if you don't have access to them..

So I still think it's a valid feature request.

Firstly, bugs are not a valid place to raise feature requests, please use a blueprint. Secondly, I don't think that your point is valid. If people don't want the channels then it should be their decision to delete them, The issue is not as trivial as you make it sound. What if the user has a CA device but it can only be used on certain channels?

In the Ubuntu project bugs are often added on LP and then are set to status 'Wishlist'.

I have no idea if it's possible to separate them.

IMHO it should never be required to manually edit config files. It could be done as easily as having a checkbox in preferences that says something like 'Exclude scrambled channels'.

But OK, maybe I will add a blueprint.

Yes, that's because they've adopted that from debian which doesn't make the distinction between bugs and feature requests. I don't follow that philosophy, and I think the Ubuntu guys agree, that's why they created blueprints. If something doesn't work the way Me TV claims to work, then that's a bug. Otherwise, they are just request for changes of more features which are far lower priority. Plus it nice a list of things for other developers to try and fix, if there ever are any.
