Bug Description
Binary package hint: gimp
If saving a file, some programs (such as GIMP and Thunderbird) will try to revert to the last location used when saving. If that location no longer exists (disk off line, path name changed, etc.), it warns you that it could not be found.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Insert USB key
2) Create file, then save file
3) Unmount USB key
4) Create a new file then save file
-ERROR- (Screenshot attached)
"Error stating file: No such file or directory"
What is expected: Ignore the error, do not display error to user as it is not productive, instead show the user's home directory as the default path to save if the last path used is not available.
I will report if this happens under any other applications as well. If anyone has experienced this using another application please report it below.
Version Information:
Ubuntu Hardy (2.6.24-19-generic)
gimp 2.4.5-1ubuntu2
thunderbird 2.0.0.16+
