Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

When desktop effects are enabled and I suspend and resume my computer, it crashes (halts) after a while. I noticed that sometimes it halts during drawing of some visual effect which lead me to suspect compiz. After turning desktop effects to none, suspend/resume works, no crashes at all after that.

OS: 8.04.1 x86 32-bit
Version: compiz 1:0.7.4-0ubuntu7
Hardware:Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook E7110, Radeon mobility 7500 with "radeon" driver.

This is probably not enough information, but I'm unsure how to proceed.
I've checked xorg.log, syslog etc, but I haven't found anything obviously linked to the problem.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
