Bug Description

After upgrading to the last xserver-xorg-input-mouse (with the dependence of
xserver-xorg-core), the mouse button setting are not customizable, for example,
the command : xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1 4 5" did not work not all;
I had tried to customize the button setting in GNOME (I just configured it as
left-hand), and it didn't work neither, is there any workaround or some patches ?
Thanx !

I'm having a similar problem after upgrading to Dapper's version of the X server
(list of upgraded packages at end of message; otherwise this is a Breezy
system). xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1 4 5" has no effect, but "pointer = 2 3 1 4
5" causes the buttons to act as 3, 1, and 2, from left to right. Apparently the
permutation is applied twice, which suggests a workaround: add Option "Buttons"
"7" in your xorg.conf, and then use xmodmap -e "pointer = 6 2 7 4 5 3 1". Seems
to work for me...
