Bug Description
Binary package hint: netspeed
On systems with iwlwifi drivers, there is a "wmaster0" device. When both eth0 and wlan0 get disconnected, netspeed-applet falls back upon wmaster0. This is quite irritating, as wmaster0 doesn't show any data transfer at all, and netspeed just shows 0 B/s. I believe wmaster0 should be blacklisted as a device so that netspeed doesn't fall back upon it when eth0 and wlan0 are disconnected.

I have the same issue using 8.10 and iwl3945. Netspeed sometimes starts to monitor wmaster0 device, even though wlan0 is the right choise.
Workaround is to untick the automatic selection, but this requires change every time connected device changes.
