Bug Description

This happens when you have both your burner and your HDD connected to the same IDE cable. It can also happen in some notebooks. Here is the fix:
In K3b:
Settings > Configure K3b... > Programs > User Parameters
Click near cdrecord, and add the option -immed.

You may need to ensure that cdrecord is selected by:
Settings > Configure K3b... > Advanced > Show advanced GUI elements
During the burning setup, you will have an option to select cdrecord.

Turns out, the disk was a bad burn, so Its good that itt stopped at 93% maybe?

I burned again, and there were no bugs, but it was still laggy.

I'm using a clean install of Intrepid, and these issues are non-existent! Even during the expected hiccups of lag, the system remains responsive to user input. And certainly, the case of my computer being lagged down during the whole burning process is gone.

Cheers

mk, I left it open because its still a bug in hardy, but I guess it makes sense to close. Hardy LTS is just about security fixes? And bugs like these are left to the biyearly releases? The more I think about it, the more sense it makes.

reopening this bug, because I figured out whats going on. Brasero uses /tmp for its scratch work space, whatever, whereas RAM should be used. This is a bug. I don't understand why brasero uses /tmp.

I'm going to redo the summary to reflect my findings.
