crashed just after have changed screen resolution. Then color theme changed from brown/orange to grey/blue.

Confirm. But in this case, It crashed immediately after a Firefox 3 crash (firefox crashed with SIGSEGV in XVisualIDFromVisual()) and all desktop configuration was lost!

that laptop died since than so I can not theoretically reproduce an issue. Having intrepid on other computers, it doesn't happen recently. I guess bug can be closed as non-reproducible.

I have this same problem with ubuntu lucid lynx alpha 3 in virtual box 3.1.4 when i resize or maximize the virtual machine window. What is causing it?
