Bug Description

I'm not sure what is right package and what I have to add this report. I have tried generate keys with gpg and with enigmail, but allways it said can't decrypt message, wrong secret key. I tried kmail and thunderbird. I have very much keys now because no any key doesn't work. Decrypting worked in Hardy, but not in Intrepid.

mattik@mattik-laptop:~$ gpg --version
gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.9

Encrypt and decrypt worked on console but it said gpg-agent didn't started. It didn't ask for the password in thunderbird or kmail, but on console it asked.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

If you type gpg --list-secret-keys in terminal, do you get the secret-key the message was encrypted against shown?

Thanks. And you are sure this is the key used to encrypt the message for? Try copying out the encrypted message (view source, copy the complete encrypted message-part) into a new file and use gpg --decrypt-files <filename>. What does it say in terminal?

You need a passphrase to unlock the secret key for
user: "Matti Kukkola <email address hidden>"
2048-bit ELG-E key, ID A6B1BAE5, created 2008-08-29 (main key ID 82D2C0D3)

gpg: agentin käytössä on ongelmia - agenttia ei käytetä
gpg: encrypted with 2048-bit ELG-E key, ID A6B1BAE5, created 2008-08-29
      "Matti Kukkola <email address hidden>"
Tiedosto "testi.txt" on olemassa. Kirjoita yli? (y/N) y
mattik@mattik-laptop:~$ cat testi.txt
testi

It said
It is problem in use of agent. agent isn't been used.

Problem is not it, that secret key and private key doesn't match. Problem is, that using thunderbird or kmail, doesn't decrypt, because it doesn't ask passphrase. Could you change title, when this is confirmed. Thank you :)

Ok, thank you. There DOES exist an issue where both packets conflict
each-other. Try removing gnupg-agent and try again.
