Downloading tarball from archive or via watch file leads to build failing

Bug Description
When a .orig.tar.gz is downloaded automatically it is put in the
tarball dir, but a coding error in 2.0 means that the rest of the
code will then look for it in the compatibility tarball dir, causing
the build to fail. Simply trying again would succeed.
