I just received this crash in Intrepid beta. I left a large ebook open over night. When I opened a new document and scrolled in the previous ebook, they both crashed with an apport notification.

If I can reproduce it, I'll try get a valgrind report.

I experienced this one too. I opened Evince from the commandline, this way:
evince "http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~wkahan/JAVAhurt.pdf"

After reading the six or so first pages, I used other applications for an hour or two (mostly Firefox).
When I returned to Evince and scrolled a bit up and down, I experienced this crash too.
