Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Bug occurs in thunderbird 2.0.0.16

When I try to forward one particular message, the message is forwarded as an attachment even though my preferences specify forwarding inline. I have attached the message, but with email addresses, the subject line and visible text replaced by short messages to that effect.

I have been unable to reproduce this bug with other messages, even though I have tried several.

If I hit the reply button for this message the text appears inline as it is supposed to.

The message was sent to me for forwarding by someone who had tried to post it several times to an e-list without success. However it is quite possible that this is merely a coincidence; on this list postings sometimes turn up days late, if at all. When I say that the message is the same one my friend had sent to the list, I should make clear that it is not exactly identical because a personal message to me was added.

Hello Robert.
Thanks for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2008 regarding Thunderbird and there have been several versions of Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket? Or, if it is still a problem, could you come to Launchpad and make a comment to that effect?

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

G
