Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
After pimping up my desktop with the New Wave theme, I though I might go for a more OS X style desktop, and I decided to move the top panel down, and delete the remaining one. This was not ok for Compiz. There appears to be some display errors in a black bar at the top of the screen (see the 3 attached screenshots). At first this bar vanished when changing the desktop background, but it reappeared shortly thereafter.
Apps can maximize to this area, and I can place apps in the area, but moving them around leaves trails in this black bar that does not go away until you switch to another virtual desktop with Ctrl-Alt-Del. Right clicking does also not work in this black bar at the top.
I found at that by disabling desktop effects (effectively disabling Compiz Fusion, as far as I know), the black bar vanishes and everything looks OK.
I was wrong, there is still something wrong after disabling compiz. Just less of it ... See the attached screen shotshot. The top 1cm of the background seems to be duplicated on the bar/strip mentioned before.
