Windows 2000 doesn't work with Hardy's KVM

Hello,

Trying to install Windows 2000 server (no service pack) does work in Hardy in non accelerated mode, but crashes at boot in accelerated (KVM) mode. Installing in qemu mode, installing service packs, and then trying to restart the VM in accelerated mode doesn't work neither. It is a bit of a surprise as it is listed in the list of supported OSes on qumranet's website :(

Any additional info I could provide?

I'm going to try and track down a Windows 2000 iso. I haven't been able to find one yet, and my ancient, pressed Win2000 cdrom is in worse shape than my Nirvana Nevermind album :-)

If you're running Hardy, could you please test this using the kvm-84 package in this PPA:
 * https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-virt/+archive/ppa

Does this solve the issue, or is it reproducible?

Yann- I'm curious ... What's the status here? Were you able to run Windows2000 under the kvm-84 PPA package?

By the way, I do not have access to a Windows 2000 iso, so I'm going to need some external help to confirm or close this bug.

Hi Dustin, got it to work with -62, needed to convert the image created with virt-install to qcow2 before installing it. Got a few win2000 server running fine for a while now :)

works with Jaunty (or Hardy) and kvm-84?

XP working fine so far (at least an already existing VM). Specified here: http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Guest_Support_Status to use QCOW for win2000 anyway :)
