Error al intentar hacer follow a otro usuario

Entro en el area de otro usuario desde el enlace de su avatar e intento hacerme follower de ese usuario

La pagina me notifica que algo va mal con un verboso mensaje tal que "Error en el javascript error"

Inspeccionando mas detenidamente el error (gracias firebug!) veo que la respuesta del servidor es algo como el tipico error 500:
