Bug Description

Using qemu with intrepid guest without '-kernel-kqemu' everything is fine. Hardy guest works fine with 'kernel-kqemu'. However, when booting an intrepid i386 guest with kqemu, I get:

[14082.214138] ata2.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen

and it drops to the initramfs. The qemu invocation is simply:
$ qemu -kernel-kqemu -hda /srv/vms/qemu/intrepid-i386-sec/root.qcow2 -curses

$ dpkg -l|grep qemu

ii kqemu-source 1.3.0~pre11-8ubuntu1 Source for the QEMU Accelerator module
ii qemu 0.9.1-5ubuntu2 fast processor emulator

I did also see a bunch IOAPIC errors (Invalid reference to IRQ 0) on startup.

This is no longer a problem on an up to date Intrepid system.
