Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.1 (GNOME) and OOo V2.4.1.
I have the problem that dialog boxes in a OOo calc application don't have the original size, so that not all fields to be filled out, are visible. As another user reports the same application is working correctly on Ubuntu 8.04-KDE. I don't want to use/install KDE. Therefore the question is, if it is a problem of Ubuntu-GNOME or a bug in OOo. Could you please give me an idea how to resolve this problem. Many thanks for useful answers.

P.S. the Calc application is attached

Does disabling compiz correct the problem? There is a similiar issue with wizards' windows.
