Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I have tried to upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 thru internet by option update manager in GNOME.

it sucessfully up to package installation after that it hangs on
GENERATING LOCALES
EN-AU.UTF-8

It was showing only 19 minute left on that time.

I have done wait for 2 hours but it was still at that position.

Then I switched off laptop and run again but system was not booting.
At the time of booting also it was showing fail at 2 - 3 places.

Tried to fix thru recovery mode. selected option fix from broken package but now also it is stucking at same point

generating locales
en-AU.UTF-8

This bug is a duplicate of Bug #249340. The fix was recently committed. If you can boot from your old Gutsy kernel and update Gutsy before retrying the Hardy upgrade (after the fix hits the servers, that is), it *might* work.
