Bug Description

The 64-bit version of the JDK 1.5 does not paint swing applications.
I am using the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 8.04.1.

The output of "uname -a":
Linux ubuntu 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Fri Jul 11 21:01:46 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The output of "java -version":
java version "1.5.0_15"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_15-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.5.0_15-b04, mixed mode)

The attachment contains a test case to reproduce the problem.

What window manager are you using, Compiz? Say "yes" if you have Desktop Effects enabled. I think this is a duplicate of #118983
