Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

running Ubuntu 8.0.4.1 on Dell PC 2GHz) kernel version 2.6.24-19-generic

Install Unison sw to enable Media Player to play midi files - everything works fine

Open presenter -> create blank presentation -> insert -> movie and sound -> select the midi to be inserted

Run presenter <F5> and the sound icon is a white box. Clicking on the box does not help.

If I repeat the process with an MP3 file - i must right click on the sound icon -> interaction -> play sound -> load mp3 song THIS PROCEDURE WORKS FOR MP3 ONLY DOES NOT WORK FOR MIDI

Can you please assist me?

Thanks

Steven Herbert

It seems that adding a midi now in 1:2.4.1-11ubuntu2 causes impress to crash.

If you add a Midi music file to an Impress presentation it causes Impress to lock up (hang), this appears to be an ooo-build issue.

I cannot reproduce that on opensuse as it doesn't support playing midi files thru gstreamer (that's what OOo uses to play media)

Do other applications using gstreamer play the midi file OK? If not than it is gstreamer problem.

Yes I was able to play midi files in totem via gstreamer (I believe). I will have to look into this some more when I get back from OOoCon in Beijing.

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.

Sorry, please ignore my previous comment which was intended for a different

SUSE is not going to sponsor a fix for this issue.
