Since about a week I have been experiencing sudden crashing of FF3 which -- AFAIK -- is not related to flash or any other plugin, see also my thread on this issue: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=887668
If I run FF from a browser the only error message I am receiving is:
rdrijsen@dell-ubuntu:~$ firefox
Segmentation fault
Which unfortunately is very little to go on.
I have tried removing and (re)installing FF, removing the .mozilla directory and starting over.
Both did not provide a solution.

Please find attached the result of running strace on FF. When I ran strace, I went to UF, opened my User CP, went to the first subscribed thread, scrolled down ... crash. The command I used for strace is:
strace -to <filename>.txt firefox

The extensions (add-ons) I have installed are:
Adblock Plus, Adblock Filterset.G Updater, Answers, Ctrl-Tab, StumbleUpon, Ubuntu Firefox Modifications, Zimbra DnD

If more information is required, please let me know.

Today I once more moved my ~/.mozilla directory using the command
Code:
mv ./.mozilla ./mozilla_old

Re-installed Firefox
Code:
sudo aptitude reinstall firefox-3.0

Next I recovered my bookmarks from the earlier created mozilla_old directory.
The AdBlock Plus and StumbleUpon add-on were still installed.
Added a few extra (Answers, Filterset.g and Fast Dial).
Did not any additional Themes or Languages.

Currently running over an hour without a Segmentation Fault.
Which is an amazing record since I first started getting the issue.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Changed in firefox-3.0:
