Why was this bug made invalid?

Can you discuss this with the upstream developer before marking invalid?

It's blocking quite a few applications from moving forward (on Ubuntu) with this library (that is indeed being developed rapidly). The version of Ubuntu is not even compatible with the rest of the vala environment.

So if the upgrade doesn't happen, it's better to just remove the package.

Philip - It hasn't been marked invalid. It has just been re-assigned to the hardy-backports project.

Packages builds and installs without issue. No rdepends to worry about. ACK from ubuntu backporters. As a request from the archive admins, we're doing this backport by hand (i.e. manual upload) to allow them to test a bug.

This bug was fixed in the package libgee - 0.1.3-1~hardy1

---------------
libgee (0.1.3-1~hardy1) hardy-backports; urgency=low

  * No-changes backport of libgee from intrepid to hardy (LP: #260325)

libgee (0.1.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * debian/control,
    debian/patches/01_disable-tests.patch,
    debian/patches/02_am-maintainer-mode.patch,
    debian/patches/99_autoreconf.patch:
    + Build depend on GLib 2.16 and drop old patches.
  * debian/rules:
    + Run unit test suite but don't fail the build on errors.

libgee (0.1.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
    + debian/patches/01_disable-tests.patch:
      - Disable compiling the tests, this needs GLib >= 2.15.X.
    + debian/patches/02_am-maintainer-mode.patch:
      - Enable maintainer mode to allow easier patching of autotools generated
        files.
    + debian/patches/99_autoreconf.patch:
      - Regenerated autotools generated files for the above changes.
  * debian/control:
    + Build depend on autotools-dev.
    + Let the -dev package depend on libglib2.0-dev (>= 2.10.0).
