Bug Description

/etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf:
prepend domain-name-servers 127.0.0.1;

Works as expected for wlan0 and eth0, but not ppp0. When I connect to a wireless / wired network (using NetworkManager) the server is prepended. When I connect to a gsm modem (using GnomePPP or NetworkManager 0.7) the server is not prepended, only the servers supplied by DHCP are written to /etc/resolv.conf.

Same here. This work in Ubuntu 7.10. In my case prepend is not considered even in Wired or Wireless.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I'm not able to test this any more as I no longer use a dial up connection (left Australia so no more 3g card!). Hopefully somebody else can test to see if this issue still exists.
