Bug Description

As per https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SupportedHardware
I report that the Belkin F8T013 Bluetooth USB adapter does not work with Ubuntu 8.04.1 amd64.

Hardware IDs:
FCC ID: K7SF8T013
IC: 3623A-F8T013

USB ID : 050d:0013

After plugging in the adapter, a BT icon appears on the menu bar, but it can not detect a BT phone.

I am new to BT usage, so please say what info you need.

Hello,

- set your phone to be discoverable.
- open a terminal
Type "sudo hcitool scan" and tell me if you see your phone in the list (or paste the output here).

Do you see some errors in logs the file /var/log/messages or /var/log/dmesg that could conclude your bluetooth adapter is not working?

Apparently your model should work under Linux.

WARNING!
Please ignore the above. It seems the adapter is broken.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Now it detected the phone, for example.

David, are you your adapter is not broken, could you try on Windows for instance or another machine perhaps?

Thanks David,

I just seen my comment about broken device was sent at the same time you told it was broken.
Thanks for feedback.
